  • Factors Affect the Elasticity of Spandex Yarn

    Date:2023-05-17

    There are many factors affecting the elasticity of spandex yarn, such as oxidizing agent, reducing agent, caustic soda, high temperature and high humidity, organic solvent, etc. all have certain influence on the elasticity of spandex yarn.
    The influence of time on the elasticity of spandex yarn: the elasticity of ammonia yarn will continue to decrease over time, and the storage period of ammonia yarn produced by regular manufacturers is less than eight months.

    Its elastic loss is not large, and it will not affect the wearing performance of the fabric.
    The influence of light on the elasticity of spandex yarn: spandex yarn is not resistant to sunlight, especially some poor-quality spandex yarns exposed to the sun for about 2 hours, the ammonia feed yarn will have serious fracture phenomenon, and the polyester network elastic yarn will break. It is more serious, and the covered elastic yarn is relatively light-resistant. These phenomena are due to the lower shape and melting point of spandex filaments.
    Effect of singeing process on fabric elasticity:
    ①The temperature resistance of spandex yarn:
    a. The setting temperature of spandex yarn is: 134~200℃;
    b. The softening temperature of spandex yarn is: 175~200℃;
    c. The melting temperature of spandex yarn is: 230~250°C; when the temperature rises to 270°C, spandex begins to thermally decompose.
    ②Because spandex itself has the characteristics of easy shrinkage and melting when heated (high temperature), different elastic fabrics have different temperature resistance.
